Katie Okamoto is a writer, journalist, and editor based in New York City. Her work has appeared in a variety of national publications including The Atlantic, BuzzFeed, Bon Appétit, Metropolis, Newsweek, and Vice, as well as in Lucky Peach and Milky. She is currently the Senior Editor at Metropolis. In addition to writing and editing for magazines, she has contributed research and writing to books in food and design, including Where Chefs Eat (Phaidon, 2018) and The Underdome Guide to Energy Reform (Princeton Architectural Press, 2015). Before earning a graduate degree in architecture, she reported for WRNI, Rhode Island’s public radio station, and was a producer at Radio Open Source (now on WBRU).
